Broken Prince (The Royals Book 2)

Broken Prince

Title: Broken Prince (The Royals Book 2)
Author: Erin Watt
Genre: Fiction/ Romance
Source: Kindle

Rating: 4/5

My favourite quote; ‘Everyone’s eyes are on us. The Royals are in shambles, ladies and gentlemen. The twins have stopped talking to me. Seb must’ve said something to Sawyer and now they both look at me as if I’m a leper. East’s trying to screw his pain away. Gid’s angry and the world. And me? I’m just drowning.’

Broken Prince is the second book out of The Royals collection, and there is so much more to come! I thought it was just a trilogy but Erin Watt has surprised me by adding 4, 5 and 6 into the collection.

Broken Prince trails on from where Ella Harper walked out of the Royal mansion determined to run away and start a new life.. again. Reed Royal really messed up and found himself in a questionable situation with his father’s girlfriend Brooke when Ella walked in on him. Of course Reed didn’t sleep with Brooke, but nothing is going to convince Ella of what she saw, even if she didn’t see the full story of why Brooke was found naked in his bed.

Reed’s world is falling apart around him, his brothers hate him, the students at Astor Park are turning on each other without his leadership, Brooke is blackmailing him as a means to move into the Royal home and the girl he fell for has disappeared – all because of him. He’s used his anger as a means to get his way for so long, but this time it isn’t doing him any favours, only more trouble comes his way.

‘”Everyone leans on you. It’s a burden, I get it, but if you don’t stand up, it’s going to be a massacre.”
I get up too and head for the door. “Let the school burn,” I mutter. “It’s not my job to put out the flames.”

When they finally find Ella and bring her home, things don’t easily go back to normal. Whatever normal is. Reed is still being shunned by his brothers and Ella refuses to talk to him, Easton is feeling more isolated than ever with the families secrets and Ella’s betrayal by leaving and Brooke has managed to creep her way back into the Royal home with an announcement that surprises everyone.

For Ella, it feels like the first day of school all over again with Astor Park’s cruel hatred towards her and nasty comments from Jordan Carrington in particular. She’s grown up strong and can fight for herself without the help of the Royal brothers, but Ella is feeling the pressure is too much, especially when it comes to Reed. Why is he determined to follow her around to try and convince her to forgive him? Why won’t he just leave her alone? She doesn’t know what to believe anymore. Her entire life is just a mess. The Royals are a mess. Astor Park is a mess. Something needs to change and fast.

‘It’s too much. All of it. This town. These fucking kids. This whole ridiculous life that’s suppose to be so much better than the one I had before because I’ve got a fat wallet. I tip my head back and release the scream of frustration that’s been building since I rode that stupid bus back into Bayside.’

Goodreads Review:
THESE ROYALS WILL RUIN YOU…
Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.
What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.
Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.
SHE MIGHT BE RIGHT.

Hey! I'm Gemma :) I moved to Japan with my husband and cat three years ago which has been one big adventure. The only downside (besides missing my family and dairymilk) is that I've moved to a country where English bookshops are limited, plus the idea of transporting so many books back home sounds dreadfully expensive. I've grown to love my Kindle which is why I'm fixated on ebooks. It connects nicely to my goodreads and netgalley account also which means I'm always adding more to my never ending list of books. I read fiction and love all things fantasy, YA, historical fiction and classics. Add a bit of mystery and I'll be hooked!
